Beginning Again: Introducing a new and improved Daybook Meditations
Dear friends,
After a joyful book launch in June and a restful vacation in July, I’m entering August excited to share some updates to my email and blogging platforms!
Some of you may have already received an email from me introducing the new blogging and email platform I’m using on Substack. The new site is called Restful and my hope is that it will provide you with all that you already enjoy about my posts and that any changes you experience will be for the better.
Substack provides a more sustainable and restful experience for me in formatting, sharing, and promoting my work and is making it possible for me to continue sharing this work that I love with you. Having said that, I’d like to make this transition as simple for you as possible.
For the rest of August, I’ll publish the Ordinary Time Daybook post here and on the new site. This gives me time to move this year’s Daybook posts there and gives you time to switch over.
A couple of restful options for moving to the new site:
Option #1:To make sure you’re not having to pay double fees this month, I’ve created a one-month free coupon for my current Daybook members only to use at the new site. Head to my new site right now and use the coupon code below for one free month of the paid subscriber level on Substack. This will allow you to keep receiving the weekly Daybook post from me plus one mid-week newsletter sharing other updates and resources to help you practice the restful way of Jesus.
In the subscription box above, click “upgrade to paid subscription” and enter this coupon code at checkout: https://tamarahillmurphy.substack.com/movetorestful
After that, you’re free to unsubscribe from the posts I’ll be sending from Squarespace. Otherwise, you’ll receive two identical posts in your email inbox each Saturday night through August.
This coupon expires on August 31.
Option #2: If you’d rather not deal with the free month coupon code, I’ve created a special offer for everyone who purchases an annual paid subscription at my new site. You’ll see that my new monthly level is $6, but when you purchase a year at a time, it’s $60 a year (which is the same amount you’ve been paying here in one month increments). If you purchase the annual subscription by August 31, the annual subscription is 20% off—you’ll get another year of Daybook posts (+ more) for $48.
In the subscription box, click “upgrade to paid subscription” and enter this coupon code at checkout: https://tamarahillmurphy.substack.com/8f27cfe4
After that, you’re free to unsubscribe from the posts I’ll be sending from Squarespace. Otherwise, you’ll receive two identical posts in your email inbox each Saturday night through August.
This coupon is available for everyone until August 11. Share it with a friend!
If you don’t feel comfortable with either of these options but would like to continue receiving Daybook posts, let me know and we’ll find another option.
What’s new:
When you subscribe, you’ll get my free newsletter each week, which I’m renaming Pause, which will highlight resources to help us worship God, love people, and enjoy beauty in the restful way of Jesus. This is also the best place to find my latest news, published work, and other projects. You’ll also be able to follow me on Substack Notes.
The Wednesday email will always be free for everyone, but for $6/month or $60/year, paid subscribers get:
Weekly bonus post with curated collections of scripture, music, art, prayer, and simple practices to help you follow the church calendar
Exclusive access to personal reflections in both written and audio formats, reflective community prompts + my entire blog archive
Monthly virtual hangout: an online gathering to share what we've been listening to, loving, and learning lately
There is also a patronage tier for people who want to help sustain my writing and work a little more closely with me. Members of this tier are the first readers and patrons of my writing projects, receiving bonus content and occasional live or recorded book discussions.
Today, I’m feeling deep gratitude for the way you have companioned me here for so long. I hope you’ll find this change only a small turn on the spacious path we’re walking together. I’m also (as always) giving thanks to Benedict’s encouragement that in Christ, we are always free to begin again.
Restfully yours,
Tamara
